Leadership Training
Become a Leader-in-Training. As you delve into the Trackers Skills of your choice, our top Guides mentor you in outdoor leadership and in contributing to our broader learning community. Select the Leader-in-Training Apprenticeship that interests you:
OPTION Rangers Apprenticeship LIT: Train as a Shadow Ranger, mastering stealth. Develop tracking, stealth, awareness, and archery skills. Become a guide and protector for the village, focusing on safety with bushcraft and outdoor arts.
OPTION Mariners Apprenticeship LIT: Embark on a Mariners Leadership adventure. Explore waterways through fishing and boating. Learn outdoor expedition skills, from equipment selection to safety protocols, while mentoring new anglers and enthusiasts.
OPTION Wilders Apprenticeship LIT: Join the Wilders Leadership team and contribute to the Wilders Garden. At Trackers Homestead, care for animals, cultivate gardens, and craft feasts over the campfire, fostering a community rich in food and friendships.
OPTION Realms Apprenticeship LIT: Become a Realms-Master-in-Training. Support the Realms community by diving into a world of elves and wizards, creating lore, and legends. Help create fun and nature-connected stories and legends in our Realms LARP.
OPTION Trackers Apprenticeship LIT: Master a comprehensive set of Trackers skills while guiding others. Train in archery and wilderness survival, care for farm animals, go fishing and boating, and delve into Trackers Lore as a leader for the next generation.
Leadership Skills
Leaders-in-Training (LITs) step up within the Trackers community, gaining hands-on leadership experience while learning from mentors and guides. They connect with and inspire younger Trackers under supervision, passing on knowledge from one generation to the next. This blend of learning and leadership sharpens their skills and prepares them to be future mentors.
Expectations
LITs inspire and connect with younger Apprentices in supervised settings. They must always be kind, thoughtful, and adhere to our code of care. Meeting these expectations ensures success in the program and future LIT opportunities. If expectations are not met, participation will be reassessed to maintain a positive environment for all.
Our Team
Our mentoring team includes our top Trackers staff featuring:
- Expertise in mentoring and Trackers skills.
- Low student-to-guide ratio facilitating personal, team-based learning.
- Background checked with First Aid & CPR certification.
- Trained in outdoor safety and the Trackers Earth curriculum.
Our Place
For Apprenticeships, we use buses or vans to journey from Trackers HQ to wilderness locations specific to the day's activity. Our destinations could include Trackers' private 351-acre wildlife park and our 100-acre farm and forest. When the weather calls for it, we might chose to stay closer to home, learning hands-on folk crafts in our art studios and visiting nearby nature parks.
