The best thing to do with a holiday tree in January is watch it burn. Every winter, Trackers families haul their trees out to Camp Roslyn and we build one very large fire. There is cocoa, there are tiny donuts, and there are 341 acres of winter forest where elk, deer, bobcat, and bear leave their tracks in the mud for anyone who wants to look.
The 2027 date gets set right after the Holiday Faire. Leave your email below and you will have it the day it is official. Trees should be bare: no lights, tinsel, or stands.
What the Day Is
A winter morning at Camp Roslyn. Come when you can, stay as long as the fire holds.
🔥 The Tree Bonfire
Bring your bare holiday tree and add it to the pile. The Wilders tend the fire; you stand close and watch the sparks climb.
☕ Cocoa & Tiny Donuts
Hot cocoa and small donuts by the fire. Bring a mug if you have a favorite.
🐾 Wildlife Tracks
Walk the old lakebed and the forest edge with a Guide and read what passed through in the night.
🤝 Friends by the Fire
The quiet part of the year. Catch up with the families you have not seen since the Holiday Faire.
