Archery Basics
This 1-day program introduces essential archery skills. Learn the fundamentals of field archery in a comfortable learning community. Led by expert Trackers Guides, get hands-on, active training in the following:
Stance & Form: Explore the basics of archery stance and body alignment. Learn how to position yourself for accuracy and consistency in every shot.
Shooting Technique: Review proper archery technique, including grips, draw, and release. Develop muscle memory and confidence through guided practice.
Equipment Handling: Understand how to safely handle and care for archery equipment. Learn about different types of bows, arrows, and their uses in the field.
Targeting & Accuracy: Discover methods for improving your aim and accuracy. Practice shooting at various distances and angles to enhance your archery skills.

Our mentoring team includes our top Trackers staff featuring:
- Expertise in mentoring and Trackers skills.
- Low student-to-guide ratio facilitating personal, team-based learning.
- Background checked, with First Aid & CPR certifications.
- Trained in outdoor safety and the Trackers Earth curriculum.
Locations
We offer van transportation from Trackers Basecamp to our wilderness sites, so no car is needed! Destinations may include our private 351-acre wildlife park or our 100-acre camp and forest, both in Sandy, Oregon.
Day Schedule
8:00 AM: Check-In @ Trackers SE PDX
8:15 AM: Journey to Field Site
9:15 AM: Skills @ Field Site
4:00 PM: End of Day @ Trackers SE PDX
For students needing to drive directly to our Sandy, Oregon field site we meetup at 9:15 AM and end at 2:45 PM.
