The Incredibly Bodacious and Highly Sinister Schemes of Trackers Earth
7th
April

I begin this blog by thanking all the great people that have brought our organization this far. In the past 5 years we have made a name for ourselves and begun to train a highly specialized group of young people in wilderness skills (now earning sashes and badges). Finally, we can move onto Phase III of our plan for world domination… I mean… our plan for the healthy growth of our small and humble outdoor education organization. Here is where our focus will be for the next couple of years…

1) Buy land, more land, and then some more land We got our first few acres last September. We're looking at much more in the coming years. Sincerely, the goal of purchasing land is to set up hobbit-like villages that demonstrate how people can grow, raise, hunt and gather their own food while increasing the diversity of all wildlife around them. We call this "Wilding". These will definitely not be a hippie free-for-all. Instead theses villages will be elegant statements of folk craft, human ingenuity and people truly celebrating life and family. They will also serve as residential camps for kids, immersing them in a community that needs to exist. We will not stop at one piece of land in the outskirts of Portland. We have aims for the Bay Area, the Oregon Coast and maybe even Down Under.

2) Publishing Publish books written by our staff. Including non-fiction books, storybooks and even comic books. Oh, excuse me, "graphic novels".

3) Good Food and Family Brew much fine wine from local wild fruits, make gourmet cheeses from our own goat's milk and develop our capacity to craft the perfect slice of bacon. Thus creating the "Most Awesome Root Cellar in Existence".

4) Didn't See That Coming Open a coffee shop.

That's just a small taste of the sinister Machiavellian schemes you can expect from us in the coming year. Obviously we can't reveal every piece of our diabolical plans, but suffice to say we'll be looking for help from highly motivated individuals with a working knowledge of space lasers and giant electro-magnets. It's always a bonus if you're willing to wear an eye patch or a white suit, or if you can grow a handlebar mustache. By the way, if you've recently walked by the Scout Pit (our main HQ in Portland, Oregon) in the late evening hours, please excuse the lightning flashes emanating from inside. Also, the sudden power-surges in the neighborhood are nothing to be alarmed about. Our Flux Capacitor is nearly online.

Thank you for your time,
Tony Deis, Trackers Earth (formerly TrackersNW), Galley Cook

*Just in case: We're actually very serious about the hobbit villages, getting serious about the writing and brewing. We're hoping for the coffee shop. We're just kidding about the world domination thing… mostly... sort of... kind of.
