Houses & Guilds
22nd
December

I'm really excited about our upcoming Houses & Guilds program at Trackers. Originally intended to launch in Summer, we postponed our Winter After School and Home School programs until mid February to include them.

Guilds are an opportunity for campers to take what they learn beyond camp. It encourages them to develop healthy commitments. They start by getting their 1st level badges in the different skills. It could be a badge in fire-building (Ranger Guild), permaculture (Wilders Guild) or knot tying (Mariners Guild). Then they can refine these skills by becoming a 7th level archer, a 4th level shelter builder, a 3rd level chef and more.

Yet they aren't simply working to get to the next level, its about community recognition of their personal dedication and joy for learning. Parents, family and community members will play an integral part as the child delves deeper into traditional knowledge. Because there's a diverse range of skills and badges, this is primarily a student directed experience. Kids deeply explore what they feel inspiration and responsibility for.

More on Houses next week.

Youth Programs...

Transported After School Ages 6-10 Parents have asked for transportation from their school. We've found a way to make it standard in all of our after school programs. The more families that sign up from one school, the more cost effective transportation becomes.

Home School Ages 6-10 Houses & Guilds makes this program a more intensive mentoring relationship. Instructors, campers and parents become a team. Looking beyond simply the 6-weeks we work together for a lifetime of experience connected to the natural world.

TOTS Preschool Camp During this day children sing songs, live imaginative stories and explore nature.

Summer Camps The legendary Trackers programs are back with new weeks such as Secret Agent Academy and Never Camp: Lost Boys and Girls

Woodworking Classes Trackers is excited to offer afternoon woodworking class for kids, preteens and teens. Each class is small and select for a focus on safety. Every student takes home a finished project at the end of each term.
Woodworking for Kids Ages 5-8 Simple, safe projects to learn the basics
