2010 Summer Camps Have Arrived
16th
December

This is my favorite time of year, releasing our summer camp schedule (and celebrating the holidays). Here are some highlights:

-Epic favorites are back such as Welcome to Middle Earth and The School of Magic (ages 4-10)
-Middle school day or overnights camps are available nearly ever single week (ages 10-13)
-Secret Agent Academy is simply awesome (ages 8-10)
-Nearly every camp currently has an early registration discount (ends Feb 15)

Plus, we now offer an all ages family camp at the Trackers Homestead. Spend one week with like minded families learning traditional skills, sharing food and celebrating.

Finally, a new way of learning will begin to weave its way through Trackers programs. Kids get to choose a guild: Ranger (i.e. tracking, archery, stealth), Wilder (i.e. Permaculture, leadership, herbalism), Mariner (i.e. sailing, navigation, knots) or Artisan (i.e. theater, metal forging, woodworking). Through the guilds they earn badges for developing skills. For example, check out our Archery Mentorship.

Every youth program in Trackers will eventually offer the opportunity to earn badges through their guild. Initially, if they wish campers can shift guilds every year; as teens the guilds will reflect commitments and rites of passage to community and family. Think about it as Trackers Scouts. I look forward to this becoming the foundation for a lifetime of learning and care for the natural world.
