Simplicity of the Fox25thNovember
Of course we all know simplicity does not mean stupid. It can actually mean our days are slow, we hang out under cedar trees and enjoy the Westerly wind.
Please really look at the schedule of our children's days. Really look. Do we save simplicity for Summer? How complicated do extracurricular activities, toys, TV and especially our keen educational philosophies make their lives?
I have a particular fox I've been having conversations with of late. He does not necessarily start talking, telling me, "Have a nice day." Instead he simply ebbs and flows through the forest. Our words are a bed of moss under a curved maple trunk to rest during the rain. Our sentences are the hillocks of salmon to vine maple he hunts in. And our story is bound by the subtle trail from hemlock to hemlock, just far enough from where the coyote's are known to run.
We do not need more teachers of knowledge, entertainment or even philosophy for our children. We need more teachers of simplicity. Be it human or not.
