Who all is living out on the new Trackers Homestead? (besides Molly and I). Well, here's you chance to meet some of the new tenants and old friends (such as our rabbit Charlemagne...

Wesley Wyndam-Pryce the 3rd (aka "Wes") is our new Burnese Mountain Dog. He's already proven to be a very gentle companion with both kids and adults. In fact, even at only 17-weeks its really difficult to get him excited about anything. He sniffs the room and then takes a nap once he's satisfied that all is good. A picture of Wesley...

The dairy goats will be milked while pruning the torrential brush around the ol' orchard. Sage and Patience are currently gifting us with 2 gallons of milk a day. We look forward to all the fun yogurt and cheeses to be made. Video of our goats being milked...

The boy goat is named Silus. We think he has the wizened look of Gandalf, you be the judge. Its rumored he pulls a harvest cart really well. We will learn. Suffice to say, he will get his own corner of the property while the rut is on. Picture of Silus in all his glory...

The dozen chickens may one day give us a dozen eggs a day (if lucky). The chickens were raised at TrackersHQ beginning with Little House in the Big Valley Camp during week 2 of summer. Campers have had fun with the baby chicks and now its time to send them up for a life of free range at the Trackers Homestead. We have one giant chicken tractor already built (a mobile hen house that helps them scratch and fertilize the soil). If anyone has another to donate, it would be much appreciated.

Charlemagne: The King of Rabbits has ruled the former "Scout Pit" from its beginning. Now he will have open air and country living. We are excited for him to make the move with us and other bunny friends will soon be joining him.

We hope you enjoyed our introduction to all the friends living at the new Trackers Homestead. Come meet them in person at our Cabin Open House September, 5, 2009...

So come join us at the Homestead for a pancake breakfast, explorations of the wildlife refuge, a beautiful place to have a picnic and a local foods potluck followed by a rollicking dancing good time hoe down.
